Lafayette Township Fire Cadet Program is always looking for mature adolescents between the ages of 13 and 18 to become part of our program.  Applicants must have a desire to learn about the fire service and also help their community.  We prefer applicants that live within Lafayette Township, the Village of Chippewa Lake, or surrounding areas.  Cadets are trained in areas including first aid, CPR, SCBA basics, radio communication, basic fire dept. operations, etc...  Once Cadets are trained they will be able to respond to fire emergencies that occur in within the township with the fire dept.  Anyone interested in applying to become a member of the fire cadet program is asked to contact FF Mike Savetski at 330-416-8609 or via email.

Thirteen year old Chippewa Lake resident, Jake Ramsdell was awesome at the INT Nationals in Zacary, Louisiana.  The Cloverleaf Middle School student finished first in wakeskate competition while participating for Team Ohio.  Jake is also a seven year member of the Chippewa Lake Water Ski Team and spends many hours practicing on Chippewa Lake.  Jake is thankful that his grandfather, Don Bican, spends many hours driving.  Congratulations Jake!

Kudos to the Beautification Committee
In case you haven't noticed residents of the village are getting excited about their yard work.  Pam and Bob Williams have done a considerable amount of landscaping and flower planting throughout the village.  They've even motivated many others by their example.  They are in charge of the Residential Beauty Contest.  If you or a neighbor are planning to make changes in the yard please let them know.  Before and after pictures are welcome.   If you have debris, toys, or just too much in your front yard and it is removed by the days of judging you can win a "Most Improved Certificate."  Thank you to all who are participating.  We're all working together to make our community a special and more beautiful place to live.

Pochedly Park Gets a Face Lift
Thanks to the Hannah Family of Briarwood Blvd. who organized and worked very hard with area kids to clean up Pochedly Park behind the Town Hall.  They painted the jungle gym, basketball poles, cleaned up grafiti, and picked up litter.  Because of their efforts, the park looks much better.  Thank you for taking it upon yourselves to tackle this job.  We appreciate your generous donation of time and service.

Thank You
A great big THANK YOU to local resident Todd Wood of Dynamerican for siphon-jet cleaning and unplugging drains at intersection of Clovercliff and Rockridge roads.  Todd's involvement in the community has helped lessen the potential of flooding and water damage to the homes in that adjacent area.
This generous donation of time and labor has saved the village significant amounts of money.  Thanks again Todd for a job well done!!  We appreciate it.

As always, the Village welcomes volunteer participation with community projects.
     Thank you, Keith Riedel

These residents were tired of looking at the town hall in its vandalized state so they took action and did something about it.
Thanks you guys!  You know who you are.
